Creating and publishing an Android app

 


1. Establishing development environment:

Install Android Studio: The official Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Android app development is the Android Studio.

Set up Android SDK and other important tools.


2. Developing your app:

Design and construct your app using Java or Kotlin.

Try out your app on different devices to ensure that it works on all of them.


3. Creating a Google Play Developer Account:

Go to the Google Play Console: Play Store Console

Sign in with either Google account or create one.

Pay a registration fee which my last update showed $25 as its value.


4. Preparing Your App for Release:

Create signing key for your app.

Configure build settings for release build.

Optimize and test the performance of your application.


5. Building and Packaging Your App:

Build a signed APK (Android Package).

In most cases, this can be done via Build in the menu of Android Studio.


6. Creating A Store Listing:

On “App releases,” inside Google Play Console select “Create Release”.

Insert the APK you have created.

Enter information about the application like its title, description, screenshots, etc., into respective fields provided by the form.


7. Pricing and Distribution Set Up:

Decide whether you will make your app free or paid

Choose countries where you want your app available


8. Review & Publish:


Check again everything that you put in.


Click review then start rollout to production to publish your app


9. Post-launch Maintenance:
